Singaraja- The development and achievements of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) have received appreciation from a number of central officials. This cannot be separated from the relatively young age of the university. This was revealed in the 2020 planning and budget preparation work meeting at Plataran Menjangan Resort & Spa, West Bali National Park, on 23 and 24 March 2019.
This appreciation was conveyed by the Head of the Planning Bureau of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Erry Ricardo Nursal, who was also a resource person at the working meeting. One of them was achieving accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) when the university was only 13 years old. “It’s only been a university for 13 years, but it has already achieved A accreditation. That’s very positive,” he said. However, it is hoped that there will continue to be efforts to improve quality, including in the preparation of program planning. “Undiksha must have excellence,” he stressed. Industrial Revolution 4.0, he continued, must also be anticipated by Undiksha. Likewise, performance-based budgeting must also be considered and implemented for program planning and implementation.
Head of the Finance and General Bureau of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Moch. Wiwin Darwina also expressed the same thing. “We are very proud of Undiksha because its development is very good. “We have succeeded in achieving A accreditation,” he said. Likewise from the Head of the Sub-directorate of Financial Development for the Public Service Agency (BLU) II, Muhammad Rusna. He also hopes that this university with eight faculties will continue to improve its quality. Not only in Human Resources (HR), but also in governance as a public service agency, one of which is increasing Non-Tax State Revenue (BNBP). “This increase can be done by maximizing asset utilization,” he explained.
Undiksha Chancellor, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd explained that in 2020 policy directions had been prepared. Namely, continuing to boost study program accreditation, with a target of 25 percent A and 75 percent B, as well as preparing superior study programs for international accreditation. “A study program with B accreditation must continue to improve itself according to the criteria as a reference for BAN-PT to become a superior study program. “Meanwhile, study programs that have been accredited A are being prepared for international accreditation (AUN-QA),” said Jampel.
Institutional governance and Good University Governance cannot be separated from attention. This is realized through the implementation of bureaucratic reform and integrity zones to make Undiksha a corruption-free area and a clean and serving bureaucratic area. No less important is improving the quality of human resources to produce quality graduates. “We continue to motivate lecturers to improve their academic qualifications from Master’s to Doctoral, increase their academic position from associate professor to professor, and plan academic activities such as sabbatical leave, industrial attachment, faculty exchange, and so on,” he explained.
Publication of lecturers’ scientific work in reputable international journals, accredited national journals, indexed international conferences, or even at national seminars continues to be encouraged. This has been planned since 2017 and the results have been positive. As an institution that is required to produce reliable human resources, anticipating the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is also included in policy in 2020.
