Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) students have made another national-level achievement. This time it came from the PITCOMFEST 2.0 (PTI IT Competition Festival) held by the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta from June 10 to July 3, 2021. The Undiksha team consisting of Ni Kadek Dwi Utami, Kadek Aldi Setiawan, and I Ketut Ardika from the Mathematics Department won first place for learning Media.
Dwi Utami explained that in the competition by 115 teams, his team presented the work of mathematics educational games to facilitate understanding of concepts in fraction material. This innovation was made because there are still problems in learning mathematics, especially at the elementary school level fractions. In addition, the covid-19 pandemic requires online learning, which requires students to study from home. “So from that, we need an innovative learning media that is fun and interactive for students. Mathematics Educational Games place great emphasis on basic concepts, which present learning in a fun way, namely learning while playing,” he explained when confirmed Tuesday (7/27/2021).
Under the guidance of Dr. I Nyoman Sukajaya, M.T., the work was prepared in about three months, consisting of content preparation, as well as game design and integration of the design into coding. “Guidance runs intensively and must complete several stages,” he said. Regarding the achievements, he admitted that at first, he did not expect it because the competition was fierce and he had to compete with great teams. “We are also happy to be able to hone our skills in developing learning media, especially in educational games, so that later this game can be useful for education in Indonesia,” said Dwi Utami.
Apparently, members of this team had previously won achievements in a number of competitions. Dwi Utami had passed the 2020 Funded PKM-PM, 2020 Funded PHP2D, won a gold medal at the 2021 Indonesian Science Competition and a gold medal at the Indonesian Science Olympiad in Mathematics. Aldi Setiawan has passed the 2020 PIMNAS PKM-K, has been funded by the 2019 KBMI, and is the second hopeful winner of the 2019 FE Coin.
