Singaraja- The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (BEM-FHIS) of the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) implemented the Community Service Program (P2M), Saturday (28/11/2020). This activity targeted Galungan Village, Sawan District, Buleleng Regency. The implementation prioritizes the Covid-19 prevention protocol.
Committee Chairman Kadek Dwi Surya Aditya said the implementation of this activity was one of the implementations of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Through this also, it is hoped that it can increase awareness and social feeling toward the condition of rural communities, one of which is in terms of economic needs. “With this activity, it is hoped that a community that cares for others will be created. From this, we can also discuss education transformation,” he said.
This program is filled with clean-up actions at several points in Galungan Village, namely the Village Temple, Puseh Temple, and the Heroes Monument. Apart from that, there was also the installation of a sink in the Village Office area and the distribution of groceries to 40 heads of families. “We hope this assistance can benefit the village and the community,” he added.
The activity with the theme “Covid doesn’t mean kill sociality” was opened by the Deputy Dean III of FHIS, I Putu Ananda Citra, S.Pd., M.Sc. He appreciated the implementation of this activity because it is also in line with the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana which is the basis for realizing Undiksha’s vision to become a leading university in Asia in 2045. “Activities like this are relevant to carry out. Especially now that quite a lot of residents have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.
A positive response also came from the Head of Galungan Village, I Nyoman Suksema. The basic food distribution program can ease the burden on the community amid the Covid-19 pandemic. “We appreciate the implementation of this program. For us, this is very useful, “he concluded. (rls)
