Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) gave awards to hundreds of students and dozens of lecturers, Friday (24/7/2020). The award is an appreciation for achievements in the fields of interest, talent, and reasoning at the national and international levels achieved in 2019.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd said that currently his university is targeted to be in the 20th national ranking for student performance ranking. In this case, it has to compete with 132 State Universities (PTN) and around 4,000 more Private Universities (PTS). This ranking aims to improve the quality of institutions that are directly proportional to the increase in the quality of graduates. “With the achievements students have achieved in 2019, I am very optimistic that this dream will be achieved. Likewise, with the achievements of the lecturers, I am very proud,” he said accompanied by the Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.TI., and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni and Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd.
The Chancellor will continue to spur and motivate students and lecturers to continue working in accordance with their academic fields so that Undiksha will not be unable to compete with other tertiary institutions nationally. “I am sure that the quality of our students is not inferior to students from other big universities. We are equal, never be ashamed to be Undiksha students, never be ashamed to be part of Undiksha,” he stressed.
It is certain that coaching steps will continue to be carried out for members of the Undiksha community who continue to have achievements. In fact, the rectorate will provide specific policies for students who excel in the Pimnas event (National Student Science Week). “This is an acknowledgment of credit to students who passed and excelled at Pimnas, that’s great. For example, having excelled in the field of statistics or research methodology will immediately get an A. Because he has prepared himself well for competition and achievement from the start,” he explained.
Boosting achievement, the Chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency also invited the lecturers to continue to regenerate, to continue to motivate and guide students. “I also thank Warek III and the team for initiating this activity, and I ask that it be continued every year. Let us continue to collaborate, work together, work hard, be sincere, smart, and productive to achieve the highest achievements to make Undiksha a superior and competitive university,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, a student, Lukas Norman Kbarek, really appreciated this award. This is considered an effort to foster a spirit of achievement not only for himself but also for other students, especially those who are still in their younger semester. “Of course, this is an extraordinary thing for me because Undiksha gives attention,” he said.
This student from Papua who chose the Law Study Program also felt that the enthusiasm for student achievement could not be separated from the support of the lecturers and also the university leadership. It is hoped that this will continue so that Undiksha will be more competitive. “I am very proud to be a part of Undiksha. I who got the Affirmation scholarship got a lot of experience here. This includes achieving success,” he said. (hms)
