Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has initiated some strategic programs to become a university of international reputation. Apart from that, universities in the North Bali area that still have the status of Public Service Agency State Universities (PTN-BLU) are in the process of becoming Legal Entity PTNs (BH). To make this happen, what is needed is not only support from the academic community but also from alumni. This was emphasized by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd at the inauguration of the management of the Undiksha Alumni Family Association (IKA) for the 2024-2027 period, Thursday (25/1/2024).
The Chancellor of Undiksha for the 2023-2027 period said that IKA Undiksha plays a role in developing its international institutions. Because in it are bound the bonds of morality, bonds of values that will not be restrained by time. This role can be demonstrated through real action by introducing Undiksha to a wider audience or contributing constructive thoughts, ideas, or ideas. “Brother (IKA) was born from Undiksha’s womb and raised in Undiksha’s warm embrace. “Therefore, we should be filial, look after, we look after our biological mothers by thinking, behaving, acting following the rules of the birth mother’s needs and the rules of self-development and the demands of the times,” he said.
He further stated that 2024 is the momentum for Undiksha to try to change its status from PTN BLU to PTN BH. Of course, this is not an easy job and the chancellor cannot do it alone, but collaboration is needed, one of which is with alumni. “Continue to collaborate, continue to synergize inequality without giving little space to proud souls. “So don’t let those seeds get to us,” he said.
Another support that Undiksha expects from alumni is to promote the university to welcome new student admissions. In 2024, Undiksha will prepare 7,039 seats. “We invite alumni, let’s introduce Undiksha with its various advantages to the community,” he added.
The General Chairperson of IKA Undiksha for the 2024-2027 period is again held by Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd. He is committed to supporting Undiksha’s progress through implementing relevant work programs. This was also emphasized to the management and members. “The main work program that must be created by IKA Undiksha is in line with the Chancellor’s policy direction, namely making Undiksha an internationally reputable University in Education and Leadership (IRUEL) and also a Legal Entity Higher Education Institution (PTN-BH),” he stressed.
