Singaraja- The young generation of Indonesia is invited to always maintain the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia in the VUCA era (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) through digital literacy. This was campaigned for through a webinar organized by the Racana Jelantik-Jempiring Undiksha Student Activity Unit in series with XXXII Birthday, Sunday (5/6/2022).
This webinar presents two speakers. First, the Expert Staff of the Minister of Communication and Information in the Field of Communication and Mass Media for 2007-2022, Prof. Dr. Henri Subiakto, presented anti-hoax educational materials. Second, the National Mainstay of the State Defense Commission, Kwarnas GP, KBP (P) M. Zarkasih, SH., MH., M.Sc., CRA who delivered material on State Defense Education Efforts by Scouts Through Digital Media.
The activity which was attended by hundreds of participants was opened by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd. In his remarks, he expressed his appreciation for holding this activity because it can provide an understanding to the public about the steps taken in order to maintain the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. This theme is also in line with the Tri Hita Karana philosophy which is the basis for realizing Undiksha’s vision. The integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia needs to be maintained based on harmony. “This webinar is very important. This theme is very relevant to be raised in order to be able to maintain the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. This is also relevant to Undiksha’s vision,” he said.
Delivered further, negative actions aimed at destroying the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia have now entered through social media. This phenomenon needs to be watched out for, especially by the younger generation, and needs to be supported by increased critical thinking. “Now is the era of social media, it is very easy to be used as a tool to create negative content that can shake the pillars of nationalism. So critical thinking must be strengthened,” he said.
Suastra added this activity was also in line with the Undiksha student program. “Since 2019, activities have led to student rankings. Its programs include counteracting radicalism, fighting drugs, leadership, entrepreneurship, and maintaining the four pillars of nationalism. This is a point that must be referred to, “he said.
The same thing was conveyed by the Head of UKM Scout Racana Jelantik-Jempiring Undiksha for the 2022/2023 service period I Gede Agus Sudiantara. It is hoped that this webinar will provide benefits for participants and that the material presented by the speakers can be applied in everyday life.
This UKM Anniversary activity was closed on June 5, 2022, and was filled with the awarding of awards to the winners of various competitions. This event was attended by the Advisor I of UKM Scout Racana Jelantik-Jempiring Undiksha to close the UKM Anniversary event this time, Dr. I Wayan Muliarta. representing the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Public Relations, I Wayan Suastra.
