Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) through the Quality Assurance and Learning Development Institute (LPMPP) is again deploying thousands of students to take part in internship programs in industry and the world of work (IDUKA). The deployment took place, Tuesday (19/9/2023) which included a Public Lecture “Preparing Students to Enter the World of Work in the Era of Independent Learning”. This public lecture activity presented two speakers, namely, Luh Putu Yuni Hartini, S.E., M.M, a banking practitioner and I Made Santiara, S.Pd, a tourism practitioner.
Undiksha Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., who opened the event on behalf of the Chancellor, said that internship activities in industry are one of the Independent Campus Learning programs implemented by Undiksha.
It was explained that the implementation of this internship program was also a form of implementation of Minister of Education and Culture Regulation no. 3 of 2020 related to the National Higher Education Standards states that universities must provide flexibility and space for students to take learning outside the study program, both within universities in other study programs and outside universities, namely in industry and other universities.
The essence of internship activities is how students not only know the problems that exist in the field, but relate them to the theories studied in class for five semesters. But the most important thing is that Undiksha wants students to gain new knowledge from practitioners, transfer skills,s and transfer knowledge from supervisors in the field. Apart from that, students are also expected to receive technology transfer that they may not have received in lectures. “The most important thing in the education process is the transfer of values from supervisors in the field so that students know the value of a good work ethic and human values,” said Rasben Dantes.
Head of the IDUKA Undiksha Internship Center, Ketut Udy Ariawan, S.T., M.T said that this internship activity will take place from 19 September to 29 December 2023, attended by 1,575 students from 33 study programs, both educational and non-educational. The internship program consists of independent entrepreneurship (WMK), certified independent study internship (MSIB), as well as other grant programs. The implementation of this activity is in collaboration with 402 industries and the world of work.
In carrying out this internship, students will be accompanied by a supervisor and will also receive monitoring from the head of the institution. “Then the students will be given several tasks and obligations from mentors in the field,” he explained. (hms)
