Singaraja- The Ganesha University of Education Bidikmisi Communication Forum (Undiksha) held an action to share basic necessities in Les Village, Tejakula District, Buleleng Regency, Saturday (12/12/2020). This activity is a form of implementing higher education dharma in terms of community service and Tri Hita Karana in terms of pawongan, namely maintaining good relations between people.
The Chair of the Committee, Putu Dany Indrawan Sidhi, explained that this activity was also one of the work programs of the 2020-2021 Bidikmisi Forum. Staple food was distributed to 50 heads of families (KK) who were classified as underprivileged or affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. “This is the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in terms of community service,” he explained.
The Chairperson of the Undiksha Bidikmisi Forkom, I Komang Gede Wirayasa hopes that this program can provide benefits to the community. “This activity is also a form of implementing the Tri Hita Karana philosophy which forms the basis of Undiksha’s vision,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Undiksha’s Student Welfare Subdivision, Gede Sada Wijaya, who represented the Chancellor, appreciated this social activity. This shows that there is a concern for students as academic beings for the community, especially those whose economy is middle to lower. “We support this activity and hope it can run sustainably,” he said.
On that occasion, he also shared information about the Bidikmisi scholarship or which since 2020 has changed to the Indonesia Smart College Card (KIPK) program. It was stated, every year Undiksha gets a quota of hundreds of people for the scholarship. “This scholarship is aimed at younger siblings who experience economic difficulties and excel,” he explained.
Lecturer, Gede Adi Wistara responded positively to this activity. “We should be grateful that in this situation there are still people who care. We know the campus is producing students, who are expected to contribute to the welfare of society,” he said. He also hopes that in the future Undiksha can be more present in the community, contributing to solving problems that arise. (hms)
