The Industrial Revolution 4.0 is of concern to the Undiksha academic community, including the Mathematics Department Student Association (HMJ) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA). Facing this, mathematics learning innovations were carried out, one of which was through video. This was socialized at the expo from 12-16 February 2019, a series of Gema Mathematics Week (PGM).
Chairman of HMJ Mathematics, I Kadek Sila Santriana, said that the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is a challenge for the future, especially for graduates of the mathematics department. Therefore, there needs to be a new breakthrough, one of which is in the field of learning with a touch of technology. This step is also to increase competitiveness. “What we do to deal with this is by providing interesting mathematics learning through videos and games embedded in technology. “This is a provision for the younger generation in facing the era of industrial revolution 4.0,” he explained.
The chairman of the activities committee, Putu Indra Pradhana, explained that apart from the expo, PGM was also filled with Gema Mathematics Competitions with elementary, middle, and high school/vocational school participants throughout Bali with a total of 811 participants. This event not only increases students’ motivation and interest in learning but also introduces mathematics departments, including Undiksha, to the general public. “We hope that this activity will have a positive impact on the participants and also the campus,” he said. He added that the peak of this annual activity was also filled with Mathematics Creation Gema (GMK). “Students will display their creations. “This is also to show interest and talent,” he added. (hms)
