Singaraja: The young generation, especially students, are invited to strengthen nationalism. This effort is important amid the age dynamic and the information technology development. This statement was conveyed by the Head of the National Insight Education Center or Pusat Pendidikan Wawasan Kebangsaan (PPWK) of Buleleng Regency, Drs. I Gede Suyasa, M.Pd., after opening the Socialization of the Four Basic Consensus to the Young Generation at the Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha), Wednesday (30/11/2022).
Suyasa, who is also the Regional Secretary of Buleleng, said that strengthening nationalism is a form of love for the nation and country. He emphasized that nationalism must remain strong despite the onslaught of external factors and changes in social interaction due to the development of information technology. “I have already said, there are external factors, technological developments, how this generation can love the country. That needs to be instilled,” he said.
The socialization, which took place in the Faculty of Medicine Seminar Room, Undiksha, was attended by students from various regions in Indonesia. In addition, there were also youth organizations, community organizations, and political organizations. He invited this love for diversity as a manifestation of the implementation of nationalism. “National insight is the love of diversity. Diversity is a wealth. So for example, if there are students from outside the region, we always invite them to show that we are in a diversity,” he added.
The socialization event was attended by the Secretary of Learning Development and Quality Assurance of, Undiksha, Dr. I Gusti Lanang Agung Parwata, M.Kes. He, who represented the Rector, expressed his appreciation for this socialization to increase the understanding of the young generation about the importance of nationalism.
Undiksha, as an educational institution that realizes superior Human Resources (HR), has provided an understanding of national insight through general basic courses. “This is accommodated in Pancasila and citizenship education materials,” he explained.
