Singaraja- Ganesha Art Festival (GAF) was successfully organized by the Regional Arts UKM (Kesda) of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha). The art event which entered its Xth edition became a space for collaboration and harmony in supporting the preservation of local arts and culture. The festival was officially opened on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
GAF this time carries the theme “Jana Sadhu Sudaning Rat,” which means that humans in the modern era must have an impact and benefit the surrounding environment. This theme is in line with the concept of Tri Hita Karana and harmony which is the foundation in realizing Undiksha’s vision.
The Chairman of the Committee, Ni Made Ayu Ananda Alicia Putri, said that this activity is an annual work program of UKM Kesda Undiksha. Various competitions were held, such as baleganjur ngarap, condong dance, and teruna jaya dance competitions at the Bali level, as well as national level dance creations.
Kesda UKM Supervisor, I Nyoman Sugita Rupiana emphasized that the Ganesha Art Festival aims to preserve, develop, and regenerate artists to love regional arts. UKM Kesda also has a long-term vision to expand the scope of the program to the international level. Currently, the dance creation competition is national in scale, and in the future it is hoped that there will be development in the fields of music, gamelan, and pesantian.
The art activities at Undiksha are expected not only to dwell on practical skills, but also to contribute in the academic field. He encouraged students to conduct research on local wisdom according to their respective scientific fields in order to strengthen Undiksha’s position in the ranking of institutions and key performance indicators (IKU).
