The Japanese Language Education Department Student Association, Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) again held Bunkasai. This event, which is in its 12th year, commemorates 60 years of cooperation between Indonesia and Japan. It includes various competitions, expos, and public lectures from the Japanese Consul General in Denpasar.
Chairman of the Committee, Putu Ratih Widyaningrum, Saturday (24/11/2018) explained the competitions being held, namely Japanese speech with 9 participants, reading hiragana and katakana with 17 people, writing competition hiragana with and katakana with 26 people with. “Participants are from high schools/vocational schools throughout Bali,” he said. Especially for the expo which took place from 26 to 28 November, Indonesian and Japanese culture was introduced. Undiksha Deputy Chancellor for Planning and Cooperation, Drs. Wayan Suarnajaya, M.A., Ph., who attended the public lecture, said that the presence of the Japanese Consulate was very important so that students could master Japanese more communicatively and recognize its culture. Through this event, it is hoped that cooperation in the field of education will be established. “We hope that the Japanese Consulate can provide assistance in the form of teaching staff for students,” he said.
