Singaraja- The Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) Alumni Family Association (IKA) together with Dharma Wanita Undiksha also filled Undiksha’s 29th anniversary with social activities. The activity was carried out at the Tresna Werdha Jara Mara Pati Social Institution, Kaliasem Village, Buleleng Regency, Saturday (1/15/2022).
On this occasion, IKA Undiksha was represented by the Secretary, I Gede Suwiwa, S.Pd., M.Pd. He, who was accompanied by the committee, said that as part of the university, alumni have a strong commitment to participating in community service. This activity is routinely carried out in series with birthdays and on other occasions. He emphasized that this is a form of implementation of Tri Hita Karana in terms of pawongan, namely establishing good relations with others. “Today’s activity is the implementation of Tri Hita Karana which is included in Undiksha’s vision,” he said.
The aid that was distributed was in the form of groceries consisting of rice, oil, and food. There are also elderly care kits. This assistance is expected to ease the economic burden of social institutions. “Previously we had made observations in advance what the needs of the residents of the orphanage here were and of course, this was on the instructions of the General Chairperson, in this case, the Chancellor and all IKA members,” he said.
Head of Dharma Wanita Undiksha, Dra. Tien Sumartini Jampel, M.Pd., said that her presence at this orphanage was also to stay in touch and give encouragement to the elderly. “The main goal is to share and encourage them so they can be happy, healthy, and live a long life,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Panti Coordinator, Putu Sugita, expressed his appreciation for this activity. This assistance is very useful to meet the needs of the orphanage. He hopes that this friendship will continue. This orphanage is under the auspices of the Provincial Government of Bali. There are 46 elderly who are cared for at this place and come from various regions in Bali. (hms)
