Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has established itself to take part in the prestigious National Science Olympiad for Mathematics and Science at Higher Education Level (ONMIPA-PT) 2024. Welcoming this, universities in the North Bali area are holding stage I or university-level selection whose opening took place, on Friday (15/3/2024).
This activity was opened directly by Undiksha’s Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations Prof. Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, M. Kes. He said that ONMIPA-PT is an annual routine activity organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. This event provides an opportunity for students to show competence and measure abilities in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology. “We from Undiksha certainly really want to participate in this event. “This selection is one of the preparations,” he explained.
In this first stage of selection, there were 113 applicants consisting of 35 people in the field of chemistry, 12 in the field of physics, 19 people in the field of biology, and 47 people in the field of mathematics. From this selection, 5 representatives from each field will be selected to then take part in the selection at the regional level from 23 to 26 April 2024.
Furthermore, Prof. Sudiana said that as one of the tertiary institutions in Indonesia that has the status of an Education Personnel Education Institution (LPTK), Undiksha regularly participates in this event. “The final determination of the ONMIPA event will be made at the national level,” he said.
Through this opportunity, he also expressed his appreciation to the students who had participated in this selection. It is hoped that all of them can show their best abilities. “We appreciate the participation of these students. Of course, this spirit needs to continue to be maintained and developed. “Hopefully Undiksha will get the best results in this event,” added the Deputy Chancellor from Gianyar Regency. (hms)
