Singaraja- Stages of In-service Teacher Professional Education (PPG-Daljab) III 2021 has entered a new chapter. The participants have entered the Knowledge Examination (UP), which is the final stage. Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has again been trusted to administer this domicile-based online exam with 539 participants. The exam will take place on 23 and 24 October 2021.
This number consists of 17 fields of study, namely Early Childhood Teacher Education, Elementary School Teacher Education, History Education, Fine Arts Education, Dance Education, Sociology Education, Automotive Engineering Education, Fisheries, Broadcasting and Film Arts, Karawitan Arts, Music Arts, Fashion Design, Electronic Engineering, Spatial Geomatics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer and Informatics Technology, and Textile Technology. PPG Undiksha Coordinator, Drs. I Gede Nurjaya, M.Pd., explained that the implementation of the exam was the same as the previous exams. The participants remain in their domicile or places that are accessible to internet access. “This means that the participants did not come directly to Undiksha,” he explained, Saturday (23/10/2021).
Further explained, these participants did not all take part in the PPG program at Undiksha, but also at other tertiary institutions that were trusted as executors by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. “These participants are from various regions in Indonesia. Undiksha only receives quotas from the center and is the executor of the exams,” he said.
In order to support the smooth running of the exam, the committee previously provided debriefing to all participants and supervisors which included the technical implementation of the exam and the applicable provisions. “We are trying our best to make this exam run smoothly and as expected,” he explained.
Reflecting on previous experiences, Nurjaya added that the obstacles faced by the examinees were more technical due to disruptions to the central server, internet network, and the participant’s ability to use technology. “Previously, there were only technical problems in the exam. But that was dealt with quickly. Yesterday, there were many problems with the signals from the participants. Then the teacher’s ability to be literate in technological literacy is not evenly distributed so many experience technical problems. Hopefully, this exam can run better and smoother,” he added.
Supervisor, Ahmad Syawal during a debriefing for supervisors, Friday (22/10/2021) said that the government expects PPG to be the final bastion for establishing teacher quality. The involvement of supervisors in overseeing the implementation of exams is support for maintaining the quality of teachers in Indonesia. As previously reported, this exam aims to measure participants’ understanding of concepts/material in graduate learning outcomes (CPL) and at the same time as the final stage of the PPG program. (hms)
