Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has a Faculty of Medicine (FK). This sparked curiosity in the Senate of Surabaya State University (Unesa) about its founding process. In order to obtain this information, a visit was carried out on Thursday (22/11/2018).
The arrival of the group was welcomed directly by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., accompanied by Deputy Chancellor I, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Arnyana, M.Sc., and Deputy Chancellor II, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., in the Ganesha I Room. Chair of the Unesa Senate, Prof. Dr. H. Yoyok Soesatyo, S.H., M.M., considered the official establishment of FK in Undiksha in August 2018 to be something extraordinary. Because it can be realized in a relatively short time. “The process is so fast. The one who brought the decree was the Minister himself. Very extraordinary,” he said.
At the meeting, questions were also asked about things that needed to be prepared, so that the establishment process could run smoothly. Responding to this, the Chancellor of Jampel emphasized that it is the same as other faculties, namely Human Resources (HR), especially teaching staff and facilities and infrastructure. More important than that, according to him, is mutual commitment. “Commitment is important. Everyone must support it,” he explained.
The Chancellor from Badung Regency also said that establishing this eighth faculty required quite a long process. A lot of time, thought and energy is wasted. “Starting from the proposal proposed to the Ministry, it must also be thoroughly prepared. “Including from the budget side, we have to go all out,” he added.
