Singaraja-Innovillage Program again held in 2022. This program is a Social Project competition. This third year’s theme is “Empowering Young Sociopreneurs for National Development.” This program accommodates students to carry out social activities in society that can help overcome the problems they face. It is hoped that the innovative ideas proposed in the Innovillage competition will be related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) students consisting of Luh Laksmi Mahayuni from the D3 Midwifery Study Program, Putu Eka Aprilya Purwanti from the D3 Midwifery Study Program, and I Komang Sasra Wiardana from the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program, developed an application entitled CHECKITMOM: Application Self Screening Growth and Development and Child Stunting Potential. This team was guided by a lecturer, Ni Nyoman Ayu Desy Sekarini, S.ST., M.Keb.
The CheckItMom application is used to monitor growth and development in toddlers, which can be done regularly and minimize developmental deviations in the toddler phase. This innovation was applied to BKB cadres and mothers of toddlers in the Innovillage 2022 activities in Tegal Linggah Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency, Bali.
The Team Leader, Luh Laksmi Mahayuni, explained that the application that had been developed was aimed at helping the Toddler Family Development or Bina Keluarga Balita (BKD) cadres and mothers of toddlers in monitoring the growth and development and potential of child stunting independently. “Given that cases of stunting are increasingly worrying, we developed the CheckItMom application to regularly monitor growth and development and the potential for stunting in toddlers. This application can also minimize the occurrence of developmental deviations in the toddler phase,” She explained, Friday (9/12/2022).
This innovation entered the implementation stage on November 15, 2022. The CheckItMom team, accompanied by a supervisor, provides socialization and training on using the application. Supervisor, Desy Sekarini said this activity was a form of Undiksha’s contribution to dealing with health problems in society. “We at D3 Midwifery collaborate with Informatics Engineering Education to develop the CheckItMom application as a form of Undiksha’s contribution to the community in the health sector. Hopefully, with the creation of this application it can increase public awareness, especially mothers of toddlers in monitoring the development of their children’s growth and development, “She added.
