Singaraja- Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Pre-service University of Ganesha Education (Undiksha) students took part in an environmental introduction activity, Sunday (21/5/2023). Activities included in this character-strengthening program included visits to the Batur Volcano Museum, Penglipuran Tourism Village, Bangli Regency, Tirta Empul Temple, Manukaya Let Traditional Village, Tampak Siring, and Gianyar Regency.
This introduction begins at the Batur Volcano Museum. In this museum, students are introduced more deeply to such a complete collection. Apart from that, we can also watch documentaries about the developments of Mount Batur and its history of violent eruptions.
Meanwhile, during a visit to Penglipuran Tourism Village, students were invited to get to know the local wisdom of the local community. This tourist village is one of the tourist attractions in Bali which still adheres to traditional life and is well known to foreign countries.
The last visit was to Tirta Empul Temple. In this place, Undiksha also handed over assistance in the form of cleaning support facilities. This assistance was given appreciation by the Chief of the Manukaya Traditional Village Let, Made Mawi Arnata. According to him, the activities carried out by Undiksha showed a sense of belonging and care for the temple environment. It is hoped that activities like this can be carried out in a sustainable manner and become an example for other communities.
Student assistant, I Nyoman Mudana, S.Sos., M.Pd explained that this environmental awareness activity is one of the implementations of a character-strengthening program. Through this, students are expected to be able to learn directly and understand more about the environment and specifically related to efforts to maintain the local wisdom of the community.
One of the students, Putu Pradnya Paramita, admitted that he was happy to take part in this activity. He can not only get to know the environment but can also build friendships with other students.
Character strengthening activities for Pre-service PPG students by Undiksha are carried out once a week and are implemented in various forms, such as marching exercises to hone togetherness and discipline as well as social service to orphanages. (hms)
