Undiksha PKK Study Program Fashion and Make-up Show, Enlivened by Dozens of Models
Dozens of models appeared in the Fashion Show and Make-up Creation Event held by Students of the Family Welfare Education Study Program (PKK) Concentrating on Fashion and Make-up, Technical and Vocational Faculty (FTK) Ganesha Education University (Undiksha), Wednesday (5/12/2018). The appearance of the models, most of whom are still Undiksha students, on stage was able to amaze the audience and fashion observers. They wear different clothes. Both in terms of shape and color. Very harmonious with his tall stature. The make-up is no less interesting. Full of artistic value and displays an artistic impression. What’s more interesting is that this annual event also displays body painting with various motifs. There is a statue of the Ambara Raja lion which is an icon of Buleleng Regency and flowers.
Chair of the Committee, Ni Kadek Asri Cahyani, said that this performance carried the theme “Legends of the Archipelago”. The model’s fashion and make-up are closely tied to various local wisdoms of the community. “Every year’s theme is different. “So the clothes and make-up are adjusted,” she said.
The clothing, he continued, was the work of students during lectures. It takes a long process to produce the best work, it must be supported by high precision and creativity. Through this event, it will be introduced to the general public, with the hope that it will be noticed by the business world. “The make-up artists also come from students who specifically concentrate on make-up. “Everything displayed is student work,” she added.
Dean of FTK, Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, S.Pd., M.Pd., hopes that this event will not be the end of students’ work. In the future, we are looking forward to creating new works according to trends. “We want this not to be the last word. “But then there will continue to be productivity and creativity,” he stressed.
The fashion industry, especially in Indonesia, still has a big opportunity to develop. According to him, this potential should be utilized as a business field by students when they already hold their diplomas. In fact, his party encourages preparation from an early age. “Fashion and make-up are always there. The opportunities are huge. This is very possible for business. Just adapt to trends or times,” he said.
Exploring that world, students are not only equipped with creativity. But it must also be supported by other aspects that are no less important. One of them is collaboration with other parties who are involved in the same field. “If the product is good, but no one knows how to market it, it’s not good either. This requires collaboration. “It can be fashion observers or business people, including using technology,” he said.
There are already a number of clothes created by students that have the opportunity to be turned into a business. This is indicated by the number of people interested in buying. “But because it’s his first work, it hasn’t been released yet. “Special duplicates will be made for sale,” added Sudirtha. (hms)
