Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Lasmawan said that there are two culmination points of a lecturer’s long journey. First, in the field of education, namely by achieving the highest level of education, namely a doctorate. Second, in the field of rank, by achieving the highest academic position, namely professor. “The six academics who were inaugurated today as Professors and delivered speeches are those who have reached both culminating points in their academic careers. “This means they have been tested in all areas of their main duties,” he said.
It is believed that these professors will make a significant contribution to accelerating achievement and achieving the title of International Reputable University in Education and Leadership (IRUEL) for Undiksha. “Hopefully these professors can inspire other academics within Undiksha to soon become professors,” he said.
The large number of Head Professors that Undiksha has has a very promising potential for adding quite a large number of professors. He emphasized that achieving a professorship is not only a personal achievement as an academic but also a very important achievement for Undiksha in the academic constellation of higher education development. “The addition of six new professors today has strengthened the constellation of Undiksha’s human resource capacity whose knowledge has been academically proven. This, of course, will make Undiksha’s existence increasingly recognized by society and the world. “Because the position of Professor empirically proves the existence of a verified academic legacy,” said Prof. Lasmawan.
He hopes that after the inauguration, these professors can contribute to increasing Undiksha’s achievements. “After obtaining the highest position in this academic field, the enthusiasm for writing, teaching, serving, and researching does not slacken, but must instead be increased to provide greater benefits to the wider public,” he concluded. Based on data up to 29 November 2023, the number of Undiksha professors is 83 people. A total of 71 people have been confirmed and 12 people will be confirmed in the next period. (hms)
