Jakarta– The University of Education Ganesha (Undiksha) Achievement Team Tennis Team, which competed in LPTK Cup X at Jakarta State University, made it to the semifinals after beating the Medan State University (UNIMED) team, Saturday (4/12/2021). In this fierce match, Undiksha won 2-0. Besides that, executive team B also made it to the final round.
In the match that took place that night, in the first match, Undiksha fielded Feby Gunarto paired with I Gusti Ngurah Agung Jayantara. At the beginning of the match, this pair was behind Unimed. However, towards the end of the game, this team turned things around and put pressure on them to close the first game with a score of 8-6. Then, for the second party, Undiksha fielded Kadek Happy Kardiawan paired with I Nyoman Sukrata. The match was very fierce. The action of mutual silence is inevitable. Likewise, the action of pressing each other triggered a tense atmosphere, including from the officials and supporters. This tiring match was finally closed with a sweet victory by Undiksha with a score of 8-8, but a 7-4 break. Not dreaming, this victory was greeted with cheers by the loyal fans.
Previously, these two pairs also had a match in the last eight against Makassar State University (UNM). Stress can not be avoided. With high enthusiasm and motivation, Undiksha finally succeeded in winning with a score of 2-0. Happy Kardiawan admitted that this fight was very fierce and different from before. He also admitted that he was under pressure from opponents and was chasing scores. In the remaining matches, he tries to perform more optimally without underestimating the opponent.
On a different field, the executive class B pair, I Ketut Budaya Astra paired with I Wayan Artanayasa also made it to the final after winning over Malang University with a score of 8-4 in the semi-final match. It didn’t take long to reap this victory. The previous victory was also achieved in the last eight against Surabaya State University with a score of 8-3.
This victory was welcomed by the team manager, Ketut Yoda. He said that in this match there were new players who were sent down. In the semi-final and final matches, the Undiksha team is still expected to be impressive and win again. Meanwhile, the Chancellor of Undiksha, I Nyoman Jampel, admitted that he was also tense while watching the match on the second day. Because the opponent faced is quite tough. He also invited all players to be able to perform optimally in the next match and it is hoped that they can maintain their sweet score at LPTK two years ago, namely Undiksha as the overall champion.
On the other hand, in order to enliven LPTK Cup X, Undiksha also participated in a sports expo on the Jakarta State University Campus. It is hoped that this Expo will introduce Undiksha, especially the Faculty of Sports and Health to a wider audience. (hms)
