Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) again took part in the Educational Personnel Education Institution (LPTK) Cup XXI event which took place at the State University of Malang from 1 to 4 October 2023. In this match, Undiksha fielded 26 athletes divided into the sports of field tennis, table tennis, golf, and badminton.
The inauguration and release of the contingent was carried out by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd, Friday (29/9/2023). He was accompanied by the Vice Chancellors and Deans. In his instructions, athletes were invited to maintain sportsmanship, teamwork, and health. Don’t let things happen in this event that are detrimental to yourself or your opponent.
On this occasion, the Chancellor Prof. Lasmawan also admitted that he was proud of the Undiksha athletes who would compete because they had prepared themselves thoroughly and trained hard.
Chair of the Undiksha Contingent, I Gede Suwiwa, S.Pd., M.Pd said that the LPTK Cup was to strengthen relations between universities that have LPTK status. LPTK is an institution that produces professional teacher candidates and experts according to their fields who have an important role in developing Indonesia’s human resources.
Suwiwa detailed the athletes who were fielded by Undiksha in this biennial match, namely 7 people in golf, 4 people in table tennis, 2 people in badminton, and 13 people in tennis. The selection process has been carried out since March 2023 and intensive training since May 2023. “As a team, we have prepared ourselves as best as possible,” he explained.
