Singaraja – Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to expand cooperation with universities abroad. Most recently, discussions were held with Tuanku Sultanah Bahiyah Polytechnic (PTSB) Malaysia, on Saturday (31/8/2019). The meeting took place in the Undiksha Rectorate’s Ganesha I Room. Five PTSB delegates were led directly by Puan Yusma Binti Yusof. Received by Vice Chancellor III Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd accompanied by the Head of the Undiksha Learning Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LPPPM), Prof. Dr. AAIN Marhaeni, M.A., and Head of Undiksha’s Office of International Affairs, Dr. Ni Made Ratminingsih, M.A.
On that occasion, the communication was very warm. Puan Yusma Binti Yusof conveyed her presence to discuss collaboration with Undiksha in developing the quality of education and human resources, especially for students. As a Polytechnic, his party offers student exchange programs for a number of fields, such as mechanics, civil engineering, and finance. “Including education science, we also accept to help there,” he explained. As an initial collaboration, his party wanted at least one student this year to take part in the student exchange program, and then there could be two or four people. “We are also looking at the ability of the budget,” she said.
Meanwhile, Prof. Suastra positively welcomed this collaborative communication. According to him, this is also a strategic step for Undiksha to succeed at the internationalization at home program that was launched by the Chancellor in 2019. “This is not just a student exchange. But also lecturers. Of course, we will follow up this collaboration, so that it can run in an effort to improve the quality of human resources and add insight,” he explained.
This academic in Physics said that it is very possible for Undiksha to collaborate with PTSB because they have several of the same study programs. “It could be in the automotive sector, electronics engineering. Students can collaborate to solve problems, including at the industrial level,” he said accompanied by the Dean of the Engineering and Vocational Faculty, Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, S.Pd., M.Pd.
As a tertiary institution that carries the vision of becoming a superior university based on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana in Asia in 2045, Undiksha has collaborated with universities abroad. Some of them are scattered in Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand. The programs rolled out are in the form of foreign street vendors and PPLs. Apart from that, there is also cooperation with domestic universities, one of which is in research development. (hms)
