Singaraja– Undiksha students won new achievements from the “National Startup Competition” held by the University of Riau. In the final and announcement day, Monday, July 26th, 2021, two Undiksha teams won first place and third place. In the competition which was attended by around 50 teams, Undiksha sent AKA Teams and Ganesha Sifors. AKA Teams consisting of Kartika Nikova (Study Program of Information System), I Gede Artha Wibawa (Study Program of Information System), and Anggun Purwitasari (Study Program of Management) won the 1st Place through a startup marketplace to sell second-hand or pre-loved clothes. Artha Wibawa as team leader explained that this platform would be able to help the community in reusing their pre-loved clothes through service features, such as: selling, exchanging, repairing, or donating clothes. “We need about one month to developed this startup,” he explained when confirmed, Wednesday (28/7/2021).
They said that they were proud of this achievement, especially since it was the first time that their platform was being contested. “This is the first time this idea has been contested.” he said. This achievement is used as a spirit to continue to work and participate in other competitions, both national and international. “This is an encouragement for us to come up with new ideas and can provide benefits for society,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Ganesha Sifors team, consisted of Fachradina Yuniar (Study Program of Information Systems), Irfan Walhidayah (Study Program of Information), and Komang Eric Widhi Antara (Study Program of Informatics Engineering Education). This team achieved the third place with their startup called “RUDAYA~Connect The Art”, as a platform to connect art lovers with traditional artists in Indonesia. “Indonesia is famous for its culture and traditional arts. Indonesian traditional artists are widely spread in all parts of Indonesia. However, there are many artists who are not well-known or are prevented from contacting, meanwhile, art lovers feel difficult to get information about them. So, we created this application as a forum for traditional artists to be found on a mobile-based platform,” Irfan Walhidayah explained, as the Team Leader.
This success story, he continued, could not be separated from their supervisor, I Gusti Lanang Agung Raditya, S.Pd., M.T who gave his guidance for the teams. In addition, the support from principals, both faculties and universities motivated them well. “We are proud because we can bring Undiksha’s name in the national arena. Hopefully, in the future we can achieve more achievements,” he said.
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations Undiksha, Prof.Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M, Pd., expressed his appreciation for this achievement. “The principals is also proud and appreciates the efforts of the students to take part in the competition and are also able to win,” he said. He also invited other students to participate in the other competition. The goal was not only to pursue achievements, but also to evaluate and improve self-quality. “We are committed to supporting students to take part in the competition. We are pushing for it,” he concluded. (PR)
