Singaraja- The Counseling Guidance and Academic Support Unit (UPA-BK) held a learning transition seminar from high school to university for new students in 2023 in a hybrid manner, on Friday (29/9/2023). Through this routine activity, students are invited to build four abilities.
This activity was opened by the Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation at Undiksha, Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I. He said that this routine activity from UPA BK aims to provide insight, and enthusiasm for new students who are experiencing a transition period from being a student to being a student. “So there is a transition when they become students at high school and the equivalent to university level,” he said.
Universities not only provide learning about hard skills in the classroom, but students are expected to be able to build soft skills outside the classroom, through student organizations and other activities related to critical thinking skills, analytical skills, communication skills, and collaboration.
This is very important for students to have because after graduating from college they are expected to be able to enter the world of work well with the talents they have. Moreover, currently, it has been supported by the Independent Campus Learning paradigm issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology and it is hoped that students can gain more experience than the experience of the teaching and learning process in the classroom. “I also hope that with the enthusiasm they will carry out in each study program, they can become successful children in the future and that is our moral responsibility as an academic institution,” he explained.
Secretary of UPA BK Undiksha Wayan Eka Paramartha, S.Pd. M.Pd. explained that this activity is routinely carried out by UPA BK Undiksha every year in order to provide students with an understanding of the learning that can be obtained on campus and their learning transition on campus.
In this socialization, the resource person presented is Lih Putu Yuli Surya Dewi, S.Pi., M.Pd., who will discuss tips for studying in higher education. This seminar was attended by hundreds of students who were representatives from each study program. (hms)
