Singaraja- Ugracena Bali Student Regiment Battalion B-920/Jayastambha is one of the Student Organizations (Ormawa) at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha). Students who are members are expected to become millennial leaders. This was conveyed by the Deputy Chancellor III, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pujawan, M.Kes at the handover ceremony for the position of commander and staff at the Undiksha Seminar Building, on Thursday (18/4/2019).
The position of commander for the 2019/2020 period was entrusted to Ni Wayan Widnyani. This sixth-semester student replaces Gede Guntur Juliana who served for the 2018/2019 period. Vice Rector, Gusti Pujawan, said that student participation in organizations can hone soft skills which are very important for preparation in society and the world of work. “From this organization, you can improve your quality. You can learn many things about management. Including participating in this Menwa. “I hope that from here students can become future leaders,” she said. The former Dean of the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty also encouraged students who join organizations to still be able to demonstrate their quality in the academic field. “You have to graduate on time even though you are busy with the organization,” she stressed.
Meanwhile, Guntur Juliana admitted that her participation in the organization, especially a year of being trusted as commander, provided many benefits. He is not only more disciplined in terms of time but also able to establish better social communication. “There are definitely benefits to be felt. “I’m sure this will also be useful after graduating from college,” he said, hoping that UKM Menwa will get better in the future and contribute to improving the quality of the university. “Undiksha is expected to become a superior university. “Of course, these SMEs have a role in supporting that,” he said.
On the other hand, to become commander, Widnyani had to compete with three other candidates. He was elected through consensus deliberation. “I never thought I would be elected before. “I am trying to take UKM in a better direction,” he said. It cannot be denied that participation in this organization provides benefits for improving one’s self-quality. “Parents also support joining,” he added. (hms)
