Singraja- The Student Activity Unit of the Center for Information and Student Counseling (UKM PIK-M) Concerned about Aids and Drugs (Pelana) of the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) held the Grand Final for the 2022 Generation Planning Ambassadors (GenRe) Selection, Wednesday (29/6/2022).
The event, which took place lively at the Undiksha Auditorium, raised the theme “Know Yourself, Raise the Potential to Achieve Achievements to Create Great Generations of Youth that are RICE (Free from Drugs and Free Sex)”. After going through the preliminary stages, out of 36 people who took part in the selection, finally, 5 men and 5 women were selected to take part in the Grand Final.
The Chairperson of the Duta Genre Selection Committee, Kadek Merita explained, the Duna Genre selection was to find students who were expected to be role models or role models for other students. This Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) student hopes that the selected GenRe Ambassadors can be role models who are free of drugs and free sex and are always humble. “Hopefully it can be an example or role model that is BERASAS according to this year’s theme so that other students can emulate it and also hopefully the selected genre ambassadors will remain humble because there is still sky above the sky,” she explained.
This activity was opened by the Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Undiksha Alumni Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd. This event is seen as very positive for Undiksha students to be able to become drug-free and free-sex models. This is also in line with Undiksha’s commitment to realizing Excellent and Character Human Resources. “This is the hope of all of us, both institutions and parents and individuals, so that they can become healthy figures and have proud achievements and of course be free from AIDS and drugs,” he said.
This activity is expected to be carried out on an ongoing basis. In addition, it is also supported by ongoing education for other students. It is hoped that the selected GenRe Ambassadors can maintain the good name of Undiksha and always place themselves in terms of attitude, behavior, and achievements so that they can be emulated by the younger generation and society. “And it will also bring the image of the institution in society,” he hoped.
