Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is strengthening cooperation with the Japanese Consulate General in Denpasar. The largest state campus in North Bali asks for support in the success of internationalization at home which was launched in 2019. This was discussed in a meeting between Undiksha Vice Chancellor I, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.TI with the Japanese Consul General Hirohisa Chiba, Friday (19/7/2019).
After the meeting which took place in Warek I Room, Hirohisa Chiba revealed that the collaboration with Undiksha in the field of education has been going on for quite a long time and has also been going well. However, he hopes that it can continue to be intertwined and its scope can be expanded. “I hope the cooperation can continue,” he said.
He emphasized that his presence at the university which has a Faculty of Medicine was also a friendly meeting with Undiksha leadership, especially with Vice Rector I who was just inaugurated on June 12, 2019. “I am very happy to be working with Undiksha,” he said.
Meanwhile, Warek Rasben Dantes said cooperation with the Japanese Consul General was nothing new for Undiksha. There have been a number of programs implemented, particularly in the field of Japanese language education. “In the near future Mr. Chiba also give public lectures at the Japanese Language Education Study Program,” he explained.
Related to the internationalization program at home, this academic in the field of informatics said that it was also discussed at the meeting. His party wants future cooperation to include student exchange programs, visiting professors, and joint research. “We want Undiksha to become a home for the international community to study. So we want more cooperation with Japan. Mr Chiba will also help with that, introducing them to universities in Japan,” he added. (hms)
