Singaraja- Another magnificent achievement was made by Ganesha University of Education students at the national level. This achievement was presented by the Sifors Unggul team in the Student Scientific Week Expo 2021 (EPIM) held by the University of Jember, September 16th, 2021. The team consisting of Irfan Walhidayah, Fachradina Yuniar, and I Gede Anggie Suardika Arpin won first place in the business competition category ICT.
This team presented Startup Rudaya-Connect The Art, which is a mobile-based application that can connect art service seekers with traditional artists in Indonesia. The team leader, Irfan Walhidayah, explained that the product was specially designed for art and culture lovers throughout Indonesia with various easy-to-use features. “It has a modern and elegant appearance and is equipped with various features that can make it easier for the user,” he explained, Friday (17/09/2021).
This student who is from Medan, North Sumatra explained that the background of the creation of the product is inseparable from the cultural diversity that Indonesia has which later gave birth to traditional artists with various skills, so it was deemed necessary to be assisted through an application. “From that culture, it will emerge traditional artists from various categories of expertise, with technological advances, it is a must for a technology-literate generation to help introduce traditional artists in Indonesia through an application,” he explained.
This product has several advantages, including easy access, media as the bridges between traditional artists throughout Indonesia, media liaison between traditional art service seekers and traditional artists, and these innovations can improve the quality of Indonesian art. This is one of the introductions to achievement.
As a student of the information systems study program, of course, it encouraged the student who was born in 1999 to be able to take part in the competition with his team to implement the theory he acquired on the campus. “In the information systems study program at Undiksha, it adopts the Technopreneurship course which discusses the world of start-ups and how to build startups. Therefore, my team and I are very happy to take part in the competition as a form and implementation of the theories learned in the course,” he explained.
Although during the process of making the startup product, they were difficult to manage the time, in the end, the hard work of this team for approximately 1 month succeeded in producing results and made the team perform as the best one in the event. “We in the team must be able to divide our time between practical work, participating in competitions, and also attending lectures. Finally, we are very happy because the team that participated in this event came from a cool campus with a big name, and on this occasion, Undiksha or our team was given the trust to become 1st place, “said the 22-year-old student.
Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for this achievement. “We appreciate this achievement. Undiksha feels proud,” he said. In addition to this team, it is hoped that other students can achieve achievements in the future to improve the competitiveness of themselves and the university. (pr)
