Singaraja – The New Generation of Indonesia (GenBI) Bali Province Undiksha Commissariat held a closing ceremony for the Social Education Program entitled GenBI Teaching, Saturday (23/11/2019). The program, which took place at Silangjana 2 Public Elementary School, Sukasada District, Buleleng, was created at the initiative of members to see that schools lacked teaching staff, especially in Mathematics and English.
The Head of the Committee, Dandy Andriadi explained that this activity had been going on for the past semester with members of the GenBI Bali Undiksha Commissariat taking turns teaching. students in grades III and IV for Mathematics, as well as grades V and VI for English. “We come every Saturday. Apart from that, there is also swimming training in collaboration with Swimdo Bali,” he explained.
GenBI Teaching is not just this time but is the second-year program after previously running in 2018 targeting SD N 1 Silangjana with a similar concept. Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the GenBI Bali Undiksha Commissariat, Kadek Martini explained that this year’s program was an improvement from last year’s program. “This year we have improved the teaching system and prepared more thoroughly the material presented in class,” he said.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Undiksha GenBI Bali Commissariat Supervisor, Gede Sada Wijaya, S.E. The event was also enlivened by a variety of games involving students and ended with the distribution of prizes to the winners.
As a group of student recipients of Bank Indonesia Education Scholarships, GenBI has a duty to provide benefits to the surrounding community through social programs carried out by this organization including GENTAN (Health Response Generation), beach cleaning, hatchling conservation actions, and fundraising as well as glasses used.
