Singaraja- The government continues to encourage the increase of young entrepreneurs to strengthen economic resilience in creating quality and equitable growth in Indonesia. This is also important in the midst of intense competition in the world of work. Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) also provides support through the Ganesha Digital Entrepreneurship Academy (GDEA) 2023.
GDEA is one of Undiksha’s flagship programs to stimulate the development of students’ entrepreneurial interests. It was recorded that there were 365 students involved in this program. There were 74 business ideas initiated, consisting of food businesses, beverage businesses, creative industries, services, and manufacturing and cultivation technology. Various types of products were exhibited, on Saturday (9/12/2023). Students participating in this program are from Undiksha, STIE Satya Dharma, Mataram University, and Badarudim University Lombok. The team displayed various products with their respective advantages and had a touch of innovation.
Undiksha Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Artanayasa, who opened the exhibition, said that the products produced by students were of good quality, innovative, and creative. This product has the potential to continue to be developed. This is what Undiksha encourages. “Most of what I saw earlier, there was food and I felt the quality was good so this should be utilized by the Buleleng Chamber of Commerce and Industry so that these young people can become entrepreneurs,” he said.
The Deputy Chancellor from Manikliu Village, Bangli Regency, said that entrepreneurial skills are very important for students to have so that they can become productive and creative graduates, in addition to having competencies in their scientific field. “These small products are what students can rely on to do in the future before becoming civil servants, for example. “So that our graduates can be ready to use, ready to use,” he said.
It is also hoped that the products produced by these students can be supported by digital-based marketing to expand the network.
Chairman of the Committee, I Gusti Lanang Agung Raditya explained that this product exhibition was a stage of post-immersion. Each business idea is given financial assistance to create a prototype product, produce a product, and create a promotional video amounting to IDR 5 million, sourced from LPDP.
Previously there was also a pre-immersion stage. Students carry out lecture activities with the theme of digital entrepreneurship. Next, enter the immersion stage. Students take part in internships at UKM to practice entrepreneurship and gain experience from mentors who are MSME actors around Buleleng Regency.
Apart from exhibitions, students from various study programs also participated in talk shows about entrepreneurial success stories. This GDEA event will close by giving awards to the best participants, on Sunday (10/12/2023). (hms)
