Singaraja- A number of lecturers at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) were again awarded by the Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., Tuesday (17/12/2019). This is because the journal has obtained Science and Technology Index (Sinta) accreditation. This achievement was appreciated because it was able to support university rankings, at both national and international levels.
Head of the Undiksha Journal Development Center, Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., explained that the journal consists of various fields, ranging from education, science, economics, and social sciences. He, who also won the award, explained that based on the latest data as of December 16, 2019, it was recorded that 56 journals had received Sinta accreditation. This places Undiksha in second position out of 12 Education Personnel Education Institutions (LPTK) and 41st position nationally. However, beyond this number, there are already 30 journals that have been proposed for certification. “The development of Undiksha journal accreditation continues to increase. Most are in Sinta five. We are still making efforts to improve quality,” he said. Delivered further, the journal has had enough access to support studies. This very positive thing is expected to be a motivation for lecturers to produce more work.
Meanwhile, Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., said that increasing journal publications would make Undiksha more quickly known, both at the national and international levels. Therefore, it is hoped that there will be a need for quality improvement so that it can enter Scopus. “For those who have entered five or three sinta, they can go up to two or one sinta. Those who have already asked for three or two can go to Scopus,” he said.
He added, apart from supporting scientific development, journal publications are also targeted to be able to generate income for universities that can later support development. “The journal can be an income generator for Undiksha because many people will seek it by paying,” he added. The award ceremony was also attended by the Head of the National Scientific Journal Section, Yoga Dwi Ariadi, S.T. He also handed over a medal to the Chancellor of Undiksha. (hms)
