Singaraja: Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) was visited by Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) on Wednesday afternoon, November 23, 2022. This visitation was part of a comparative study on program planning, collaboration, business incubator management, and public relations.
ULM was led by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Public Relations, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Yudi Firmanul Arifin, M.Sc. He came with the heads of bureaus, functional officials, and staff. This visitation was received by the Head of Undiksha’s Academic, Student Affairs, Planning and Cooperation Bureau, Drs. I Made Yasa, M.Pd.
The sharing session happened quite warmly at the meeting, which took place in the Rectorate Ganesha III room. The two parties shared information about program implementation, especially about the preparation of the Budget Business Plan (RBA), financial management reporting, online-based planning, and financial management, as well management of business incubators.
As an educational institution that has relations with public services, this meeting also discussed public relations governance. At Undiksha, several contents are being developed, namely in the form of news and dialogues broadcast via the YouTube channel. In addition, publication through other social media and websites. This content emphasizes the informative and educative side. This governance is interesting for the Vice Rector of ULM, Firmanul Arifin. “I think this is an interesting thing for us, because we have not done that yet. One that we can emulate is this governance. We have done that but not periodically,” he said.
As a higher education with a Public Service Board status, ULM also wishes to form a Business Management Board (BPU). “Then, related to business management, because we do not have a business management board yet, so we learn from that,” he said.
Through this meeting, he hopes to establish more intensive collaboration with Undiksha in the future, including in implementing the Freedom to Learn-Independent Campus (MBKM) program. “MBKM is the main performance indicator, so this is our main focus as well. So hopefully later there will be ULM students studying here, and vice versa. We are ready, because we have 11 faculties,” he added.
Undiksha AKPK Bureau Head, I Made Yasa warmly welcome that visitation because it could be a space for sharing experiences in managing the institution. He conveyed that Undiksha is still improving to become a leading and competitive higher education. “What we have not done at Undiksha we can learn from ULM,” he said.
He added that Undiksha is also very open to establishing collaborations that are believed to be able to contribute to increasing university competitiveness. (hms)
