Singaraja– A series of XXIXth Anniversary, Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) through the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) carried out social service activities and environmental care actions in the Penimbangan Beach area, Baktiseraga Village, Buleleng Regency. This activity is a form of implementation of the Tri Hita Karana philosophy.
The implementation of this activity is in collaboration with the Buleleng Environmental Service and the Penimbangan Beach Monitoring Community Group (Pokmaswas). For social service activities, this is indicated by the distribution of food assistance to cleaning workers and residents who are members of the beach Pokmaswas. Meanwhile, environmental care activities are shown by cleaning the beach and sea.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., who was present at the occasion said that community service activities routinely carried out by Undiksha included being one of the mandatory activities on the anniversary, in addition to other activities, such as scientific activities, sports and cultural arts.
“We do this community service in various forms, we provide counseling and what we do the most for a few days is to provide groceries to people in need,” he explained.
He who was accompanied by Vice Chancellor I, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., and the Head of LPPM, Prof. Dr. I Gede Astra Wesnawa, M.Sc., further said, the Undiksha Alumni Family Association (IKA) also participated in sharing activities with the community. This activity is a form of Undiksha really implementing Tri Hita Karana in the field of pawongan and Palamahan which leads to strengthening harmony in life.
The Head of Environmental Compliance and Capacity Building for the Buleleng Environment Agency, Kadek Agus Hartika, who represented the Head of Service, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Undiksha for giving concern for the environment and also to cleaning workers, especially those on duty on the beach and along the river in around Balancing Beach. “We represent the Kadis DLH Buleleng in the framework of mutual cooperation and social service at LPPM Undiksha Singaraja in the context of Undiksha’s 29th anniversary, we express our appreciation and gratitude to Undiksha,” he said. This activity was also attended by the dean, director, deputy dean, and head of the department. Still in the anniversary series, Undiksha will also carry out reforestation in Lokapaksa Village, Seririt District, Buleleng Regency. (hms)
