Singaraja- Students of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) got the achievement at the national level. The achievement came from the Rector Cup Udayana 2022 event, which was held by Universitas Udayana.
In the event, which took place on 13-16 October 2022, 10 athletes from the Pencak Silat Student Activity Unit of Undiksha participated. The students consisted of Komang Gangga Kurniawan, Putu Sonia Erlinawati, I Putu Wahyu Saskara, Kadek Agus Nusa Wardana, Ni Kadek Carmiani, Ekin Dio Gokyansen Tarigan, and I Gede Berata from Physical, Health and Recreation Education Study Program, Putu Cincin Cindra Dewi and I Dewa Ayu Mas Gita Pramesti from Elementary School Teacher Education study program, and Dictyo Renaldi from Sports Coaching Education study program.
In this event, Undiksha won 2 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medal, and 1 Bronze Medal. This achievement also led to the 3rd overall champion. The gold medal was won by Putu Cincin Cindra Dewi in the arts category and Ni Kadek Carmiani in the women’s D class fight category. The silver medal was won by Putu Wahyu Saskara in the men’s Class C competition category. Meanwhile, the Bronze Medal was won by Putu Sonia Erlina Wati in the women’s class B competition category.
Gangga Kurniawan, the head of Pencak Silat students activity unit Undiksha, said that he participated in this event because he saw the potential of student activity unit members. This event also serves as an evaluation of the training that has been carried out so far. “So that there is an evaluation related to the training that we have carried out from the results of this event,” he said after meeting the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Alumni of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd, Monday (17/10/2022).
He further explained that the preparation for participating in this event took 2 months under the guidance of Ni Luh Putu Spynawati, S.Pd., M.Pd. This achievement for him is an honour and a motivation to return to compete and excel in future events. “My impression as the Head of the Student activity unit is, of course, very proud of my friends who have succeeded in achieving achievements in this national event,” he explained.
This achievement was also appreciated by Vice Rector for Academic and Cooperation Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd. He hopes this achievement can motivate Undiksha students to get other achievements. (hms)
