Singaraja- The Undiksha Student Regiment Student Activity Unit (UKM-Menwa) is invited to be the front guard in maintaining the pillars of nationality. This was conveyed by the Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Undiksha Alumni, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., when opening the Posko Strengthening and Tradition Training for members of UKM Menwa class XXXVI, Friday (10/6/2022).
The national pillar, which consists of Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Unity in Diversity, is the basis for the integrity of the nation and state. Therefore, Prof. Suastra considers it very important for the younger generation to always look after it. UKM Menwa Undiksha is invited to always be the forefront pioneer. “This national pillar must be maintained. This has always been our concern and has always been the concern of Undiksha. These younger siblings (members of UKM Menwa Undiksha) are the frontrunners in this matter,” he said.
Concern for the pillars of nationalism by the younger generation is currently considered to be eroding. It is hoped that this will not continue. The younger generation is invited to increase understanding and always be alert to various threats. “Therefore, we as parents always remind the next generation so that you really guard this (national pillar, ed), especially threats from foreign countries, therefore we must always be critical and vigilant,” he said.
Undiksha Menwa UKM supervisor, I Putu Gede Parma, S. St.Par., M.Par., said that maintaining the national pillar is a commitment of Undiksha Menwa members. This becomes one of the emphases and is emphasized in every activity, including in strengthening exercises and traditions of posko. “What is no less important is that we strengthen our national philosophies, so how can we continue to insert the 4 pillars of consensus for the state, namely Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Unity in Diversity, including defending the country which is no less important,” he explained.
Menwa, according to Parma as student soldiers, has internal and external duties. Internally, he is tasked with maintaining authority, order, and security in the Undiksha area and various activities, both academic and non-academic. Likewise with Higher Education Tri Dharma programs. Externally, it must be able to be an example, especially for students and young people in general that the concept of defending the country must be implemented as early as possible and sustainably.
Specifically related to strengthening training and postal traditions as a space for refreshment and reinforcing knowledge or practice including insights and experiences gained during basic military education obtained at Rindan IX/Udayana. This activity, which lasts until June 12, 2022, is also a medium to further increase self-confidence. (hms)
