Singaraja– The community is involved in the cooking oil commodity business. One of them was a resident of Tianyar Village, Kubu District, Karangasem, I Gede Nuyasa. In the course of turning the wheel of business, the owner of UD. Denumansuli often experiences difficulties in fulfilling orders. The reason is that the packaging system is still relatively conventional or there is no touch of technology.
Based on the information, within seven hours, relying on three employees, they were only able to pack 2,100 bottles of oil. This amount is still below the demand which reached 3 thousand bottles.
Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) students are trying to be present to deal with this problem. The PKM-Application of Science and Technology team chaired by I Made Deni Dwi Nuarthawan provided a machine innovation breakthrough that combines an ordinary well water pump machine with a trigger switch designed to package cooking oil more efficiently and with hygienic results. The tool is named Electronic Economical Cooking Oil Filling Machine. Thanks to guidance from I Gede Mahendra Darmawiguna, S.Kom., M.Sc. and assisted by 4 other members, namely Muhammad Zakki Mutammam (Electrical Engineering Education), I Komang Restu Widi Artha (Physics Education), Kadek Satyawan (Software Engineering Technology), Ni Luh Candra Daravika (Management), this activity can be carried out until finally the Electronic Economical Cooking Oil Filling Machine tool has been successfully formed and used by partners. As a result, the packaging of cooking oil has increased significantly and is more hygienic. “After using this tool, based on the assistance that was carried out from 27 August 2022 to 4 September 2022, the packaging of cooking oil proved to be faster and the packaging was more hygienic. The average volume of cooking oil products that can be packaged per day is 4,200 bottles,” explained Dwi Nuarthawan, Thursday (8/9/2022).
This innovation was welcomed by Gede Nuyasa because it really helped his business. “We hope that the presence of this innovation can help expand the sales area because product stocks are starting to get strong,” he said. (rls/hms)
