Jembrana- Enhancement Self-Motivation Mildly mentally retarded children are a concern for students at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha). This is done through the Student Creativity-Community Service Program (PKM-PM) in 2023. The form of program implemented is the Dream Drama Program which targets students at SLBN 1 Jembrana.
The PKM-PM team was chaired by Pande Kadek Okta Widiyanthi from the Undergraduate Accounting Study Program, whose members were Ni Kadek Gina Puspita Sari, Ni Luh Sri Wida Wati, Ni Made Putri Suryantini, and Ni Made Sahsikirani. This team was accompanied by a lecturer, Dr. Putu Nanci Riastini, S.Pd., M.Pd. The Dream Drama program implemented is based on pretend play through our actions.
Team Leader, Pande Okta Widiyanthi explained that the Dream Drama Program is aimed at providing support to mildly mentally retarded children who have low self-motivation in their aspirations. This program is implemented through 4 stages or four Actions, namely; 1) discussion and motivation for mentally retarded children(Discussion Class); 2) conveying the dreams and aspirations of mentally retarded children(Dream Class); 3) drama practice according to dreams(Drama Class); 4) drama performance or role-playing (Pretend Play). The program will be implemented from 7 August 2023 to 20 September 2023.
This activity was enthusiastically welcomed by the mentally retarded children of SLBN 1 Jembrana, as seen by the various positive responses from the participation aspect regarding attendance, activeness, and motivation to practice. Aspect Self-motivation also experienced an increase of 90% in 6 different indicators. Apart from that, the drama aspect was also witnessed by parents of mentally retarded children and SLBN 1 Jembrana teachers who of course received very good responses regarding their children’s performances. One of them is from Maria Puspita. According to him, this program really helps his children in building their motivation to aspire and be able to achieve it in the future.
SLBN 1 Jembrana also really supports and provides full facilities to the PM Undiksha PKM Team to carry out activities. Head of SLBN 1 Jembrana, Komang Sri Mariati, S.Pd., M.Pd said that his party really saw the impact of changes in students on their self-motivation and enthusiasm in achieving their goals. (rls)
