It is undeniable that various celebrations nowadays often require a flower bouquet. However, due to Indonesia’s tropical climate, there are limited fresh flowers throughout the year, as many species are constrained by seasonal factors. This challenge has sparked the creativity of Undiksha students. Through the Student Creativity Program for Entrepreneurship (PKM-K), a group of students led by Komang Ade Lina Dewi with members, Veramita Indrayani Dewi and Putu Wika Hartami have created an alternative to fresh flower bouquets – knitted flower bouquets. These bouquets are not only more long-lasting but also offer a unique aesthetic compared to fresh flowers. Under the guidance of their supervisor, I Putu Hendra Martadinata, S.E., M.Sc., the students aim to diversify knitted products while also fostering their entrepreneurial skills and sharpening their sensitivity to business opportunities within the community.
The program is planned to last for 4 months from April to August, is being conducted at Undiksha, and involves several stages: preparation of tools and materials, production, promotion, marketing, monitoring, and evaluation. The process of creating these knitted flower bouquets begins with selecting materials such as cotton yarn in various colors, knitting needles, and other supporting materials. The flowers are crafted using the crochet technique and then arranged into beautiful bouquets. Once the products are complete, the team focuses on promotion and marketing, utilizing both social media platforms and direct-to-consumer strategies. The final product will be sold through both online and offline channels. Continuous evaluation will be conducted to monitor progress and assess the effectiveness of their marketing strategies.
