Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to strengthen preparations to face the 2021 national level Achievement Student Selection (Pilmapres). This is demonstrated by the quarantine of prospective participants who are representatives from each faculty. This step is to get participants who are ready to compete and are expected to be able to make achievements.
The quarantine was opened by the Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni and Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd, online, Tuesday (16/2/2021). He said the Pilmapres was a prestigious event. In this competition, the competition is very tight and the participants come from big universities. It is hoped that Undiksha as a young university can make achievements or be able to enter the top ten. This quarantine activity is expected to be one of the boosters to achieve this target.
This target is considered high. In order to make this happen, commitment from students, coaches, and committee is needed to seriously prepare and be supported by hard work and discipline. “In this quarantine process, discipline has been assessed to find the last top 6. Will be sought through tests, interviews, presentations, and characters. Therefore, this activity must be followed properly, and diligently. We have to make maximum efforts,” said the academic who had served as Director of the Undiksha Postgraduate Program.
He further conveyed, to be able to appear at the Pilmapres event, students need to have many competencies. This means that it is not only enough to have achievements, but also to have other abilities, such as compiling scientific papers, having English language skills, being able to make posters, and so on. “There is a lot of experience to be gained here. Not only achievements were achieved, but many things, including motivation,” he added.
Chairman of the Committee, Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., said that this quarantine was attended by three students from each faculty who had previously undergone selection. These students are from the S-1 and D-3 programs. They will follow a series of processes and selection until finally the best is selected to advance to the national level.
Further explained, during quarantine, students were given various materials, starting from writing scientific papers to presenting summaries of scientific papers and writing posters. Besides that, motivation was also given, as was the case at this opening event which presented Undiksha academic speakers, Dr. I Nengah Suarmanayasa, S.E., M.Sc. “There are also interviews in English, there are English language test materials. Then there is attitude material about nationalism. The last time we invited from the center was material on strategies to win national championships, “he concluded. (hms)
