Singaraja- The Field Work Practice (PKL) and Field Experience Practice (PPL) programs abroad are being rolled out again by the Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) for the June-August 2019 period. There are dozens of students who will be sent to four countries in ASEAN in stages. They come from various study programs.
Chair of the Undiksha Learning Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LPPPM), Prof. Dr. AAIN Marhaeni, M.A. explained that the PKL program was attended by 15 people and 34 PPL people. They took part in a divided program in Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia. “There are more than 15 universities that have been invited to collaborate,” she explained, Friday (21/6/2019). These students, he continued, will take part in a one to three-month program according to their scientific field.
Since starting in 2017, applicants for the program have continued to increase. Especially for the departure period June-August 2019, more than 200 people were recorded. Due to this, Undiksha is trying to expand cooperation by targeting other universities, including outside ASEAN. “Based on collaboration with SEAMEO and U to U, there is not much difference between departure and reception. Actually, around 60 Undiksha students have the opportunity to go. “Now students are very aware of the importance of participating in this program,” said Marhaeni.
In the same period, Undiksha also accepted around 30 students from Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia. His arrival took place gradually. “Today only three people came from Duy Tan University Vietnam. They have street vendors in banks and hotels. “The others will soon follow,” he explained.
This program, added by the English Lecturer, is very important for students, starting from increasing insight into the culture of other countries to providing an experience that can strengthen competitiveness in the world of work. (hms)
