Singaraja– Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is committed to supporting the government in improving the quality of Indonesian Human Resources (HR) through education. This was conveyed by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., after the symbolic handover of stationery assistance at the departure of the Yoinif Rider 900/SBW Mobile Border Security Task Force in the Papua region, Wednesday (27/5/2020).
The Chancellor of Jampel explained that this commitment was shown by Undiksha’s readiness to implement programs rolled out by the government, such as the Affirmation program and the Papuan Adik Program which are held every year. In addition, Undiksha also offers public education costs so that it can be reached by all levels of society. “Undiksha is ready to accept as many students as possible who take part in government programs,” he explained.
Delivered further, improving the quality of human resources is indeed the obligation of tertiary institutions through its Tri Dharma, namely education and teaching, research, and community service. Meanwhile, specifically, the distribution of stationery assistance was delivered as a form of support in the implementation of education for the Papuan people. “Indeed, the assistance that we distribute is not much. But we hope this can be useful for the people there. Other agencies also contributed,” he explained.
As a tertiary institution, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Undiksha also held sharing programs in the form of online lectures which involved lecturers as resource persons and presented various topics. Through this program, it is hoped that people can continue to enjoy education. (hms)
