Singaraja- Busyness as educators, coupled with the Covid-19 pandemic, did not dampen the steps of Undiksha Postgraduate Doctoral Program student, Ni Kadek Juliantari, from completing his final project. His hard work and high commitment led him to take the due diligence on research results, Monday (6/7/2020). The exam had already taken place when the study had been running for less than two years. Students of the Language Education Study Program raise research on literacy in the bilingual context of Indonesian and Balinese.
After the exam, the woman who works as a lecturer at STKIP Hindu Amlapura, Karangasem shared tips on completing her studies quickly. According to him, the most important thing is the commitment of students which must be instilled if they have decided to study a doctoral program that has very complex challenges. “It is not the lecturers who determine the speed of graduation. But ourselves. Our commitment,” she said.
She admitted that in completing his studies he had to struggle with her busy life as Deputy Chair I of STKIP Hindu Amlapura, as a journal editor and supervisor of the Student Activity Unit (UKM). What was interesting and memorable for him was that his efforts received the support of lecturers and promoters who had progressed to the international level when they had to complete their final project amid the work-from-home period as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. “So that becomes the basis and relationship for me to publish as soon as possible in Scopus-indexed international journals. Because so far people’s views or stigma against doctoral programs that are burdensome have been in publications and dissertations. But with a commitment to promoters, professors who drive student motivation so great, I think, apart from me, it is likely that there will be others who will graduate, it can be two years, it could even be less than that,” she said. After the feasibility exam, Juliantari will take a closed exam on July 24, 2020. On that occasion, she also admitted that she was proud to be able to study at Undiksha which is also her alma mater at the undergraduate and master’s levels. According to her, Undiksha which has been accredited superior provides excellent service for students.
Undiksha Postgraduate Language Education Study Program Coordinator, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Rasna, M.Pd., really appreciated the achievements of his students. According to him, this cannot be separated from the support of all parties in the Undiksha environment for the implementation of learning. It is hoped that the achievements of proud students will continue to emerge in the future so that they can increase their competitiveness in study programs, postgraduates, and universities. In line with that, his party stated that they were very open to students if they wanted to consult in an effort to accelerate the completion of their studies.
A sense of pride was also expressed by the Undiksha Postgraduate Director, Prof. Dr. I Gusti Putu Suharta, M.Sc. “We are very proud because, in the midst of his busy schedule, this student (Juliantari-ed) has a high commitment to completing his studies.
