Singaraja- The Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (FHIS) Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) held a national seminar with the theme “Zoon Politicon” Youth Sovereignty in Determining the Direction of Indonesian Democracy, Thursday (26/10/2023).
The seminar was opened by the Dean of FHIS Undiksha Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suastika, M.Pd., this is to provide knowledge, understanding, attitudes, and behavior patterns in the future so that they have a sense of patriotism and nationalism to move towards substantial Indonesian democracy.
Apart from that, this seminar also commemorates Youth Pledge Day which will fall on October 28, 2023, so this momentum is very appropriate to raise the youthful enthusiasm of the younger generation, especially students.
Based on the quote from Ir. Soekarno’s “Give me 10 young people and I will shake the world”, has a very deep meaning that young people have a very big role in the sustainability of a nation and state. Youth as the nation’s next generation will determine where this nation will go in the future, so they need to instill a fighting spirit and nationalism to be able to maintain the independence and sustainability of the Indonesian nation.
This activity was attended by 180 participants who took part in the activity in a hybrid manner and presented 3 speakers, including Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., as the main speaker who delivered material on Zoon Politicon: Youth Sovereignty in Determining the Direction of Indonesian Democracy. Apart from that, there was also a speaker, the Regional Secretary of Buleleng Regency, Drs. Gede Suyasa, M. Pd, and Speaker II Head of BRIDA Kab. Badung Dr. I Wayan Suambara, S.H., M.M. The points conveyed by these three speakers were in the context of Zoom politics, and youth as part of a country. Youth are the holders of the nation’s future. (hms)
