Singaraja- Student of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha secure splendid achievement in National Oration Video Competition GAYATAMA-2 held by Universitas Negeri Surabaya. He is I Made Riyan Cahyadi from Pancasila and Civic Education Study Programme. In the event with the theme “Youth Pledge as Momentum for Knitting Diversity,” he won first place, announced on November 1, 2021.
In this national-level event, Riyan, as he is familiarly called, managed to beat the participants from various universities in Indonesia. The video oration he brought was entitled “The Pledge of Youth and the Diversity of the Indonesian Nation.” This student, born on 7 October, conveyed that the practice of the value of the youth oath is very important in everyday life. If not, it can trigger problems in society, such as radicalism, hate speech, and so on. “As an orator, I invite Indonesian youth to start improving and actualizing the values of the youth oath in everyday life amidst the diversity of Indonesian society to be able to create unity among the Indonesian people,” he explained Tuesday (11/2/2021).
His achievements certainly cannot be separated from his hard work and efforts. Admittedly, it took about two weeks to prepare for the competition, starting with designing oration scripts and making videos. The motivation to participate cannot be separated from the encouragement of my supervisor I Putu Windu Mertha Sujana, S.Pd., M.Pd., and all Undiksha leaders who always “This competition certainly gives a good impression, apart from being able to develop talent in oration, I also learn a lot from other participants which I will use as an evaluation in the future,” said this fifth-semester student.
Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., was very proud of this achievement and immediately gave his appreciation. He hoped that this achievement could be a motivation for other students to continue to work and excel. “We at the headship of Undiksha always invite students to continue improving their quality and achieve achievements in competitions. We are very supportive,” he said. (lpsy)
