Singaraja- The national-level achievements made by Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) students in 2021 did not stop at the Indonesian Regional Language and Literature Student Association (IMBASADI). Most recently, the achievements were presented by students of the Midwifery Diploma Study Programme, Faculty of Medicine from the Midwifery Student Scientific Writing Competition (LKTIMK) 2021. This event was held by Poltekkes Kemenkes Banten, Midwifery Department Rangkasbitung.
The students who joined the team consisted of the chairman, Putu Desy Riskayani along with Luh Sherly Budi Sapitri and Ni Putu Dita Mahayu Pertiwi as members. The competition, held online from March 24 to May 30, 2021, carries the theme “Maternal and Neonatal Emergency Management Update” Desy Riskayani explained that under the guidance of Putu Irma Pratiwi, S.Tr.Keb., M.Keb., her team made a scientific research paper entitled “Early Detection of Preeclampsia by Performing Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) Examinations at Antenatal Care Visits. The writing uses the literature review method, which collects various theories and the latest research results, which are then analyzed. The results of the analysis show that early detection of preeclampsia by conducting MAP examination has proven to be effective as an effort to carry out early detection when pregnant women carry out antenatal care checks. MAP is a better predictor for early detection of preeclampsia compared to systolic or diastolic blood pressure alone. Early detection of preeclampsia will allow proper monitoring and management to prevent complications so it may reduce the incidence of morbidity and mortality in pregnant women. “The results of our data analysis are based on 15 articles,” she explained on Friday (11/6/2021).
Making these works, admittedly drain their mind and time. However, everything paid off by winning first place, which was announced on June 10, 2021, after competing with 34 teams. “It takes a month to make the scientific paper. Even though the team members of the Midwifery Diploma Study Programme are still in the 2nd semester and have not received the Maternal Neonatal Emergency Midwifery Care course, they still try their best to win,” she said.
This achievement is expected to be a motivation for other Midwifery Study Programme students to be able to make achievements in the next event. In addition, it also raises the spirit of working in order to achieve the vision of the Midwifery Study Programme “Becoming an Excellent Study Programmee in the field of Community Midwifery Based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy in Indonesia in 2030″.
This achievement was appreciated by Undiksha Rector, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd, for contributing to the annual student performance rankings. “We at the headship continue to encourage students to excel. This is not only important for the university but also for the students themselves. It can build their competitiveness,” he said. (lpsy)
