Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) won the gate ball event held by Udayana University from 5 to 7 August 2023. In this national event, Undiksha sent two reliable teams and won gold and silver medals.
The first team or team A consisted of Gusti Ayu Kadek Ratna Wati and Kadek Hendria Natha. This team won a gold medal. Team B consisted of Gede Marta Hartawan and Kadek Widma Rini who won the silver medal. In the 2nd Udayana Cup event, the Undiksha team had to compete with 15 other teams from seven universities in Indonesia. In the semifinal match against the Warmadewa University and Udayana University teams.
Team coach, Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, S.Pd., M.Kes said the competition was very tight. “We sent 2 teams who are in this team double We play with full concentration so it’s not in vain to practice until we get gold and silver,” he said.
Delivered further, getting the achievement was full of struggle and preparation. Regular practice is carried out for two months. “For training with the Buleleng Gateball Team, we even joined a team from Udayana who happened to come to Buleleng Gateball and we collaborated there, played, competed,” he explained.
After this match, his team will continue to train in preparation for another match. In addition, it will also recruit new members for the Gateball Student Activity Unit (UKM). “Our target in the future will continue to practice and will recruit new students who are competent, who have achieved achievements to join the Undiksha gate ball to always fight for the name of Undiksha, both at the local and national levels,” he added.
This achievement was conveyed to the Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Undiksha Alumni, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, M.Kes., Wednesday (9/8/2023). He is appreciative and proud. According to him, this achievement not only made Undiksha proud but also contributed to the Student Rating Management System (Simkatmawa).
The Vice-Chancellor from Gianyar Regency hopes that this achievement can increase the Undiksha gate ball team’s motivation to participate in other competitions. “We also hope that this can motivate other students to participate in competitions in various fields and achieve achievements,” he said. It was emphasized that Undiksha leadership was committed to supporting students to participate in competitions, especially those that support the achievement of Simkatmawa and Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (IKU). “Simkatmawa and IKU are a reference for student activities,” he concluded.
