Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) was once again listed as a national-level achievement winner. This time it came from the Cricket championship event at Udayana University which took place from 18 to 21 August 2023.
In the Rector Cup II event, Undiksha won 1st place in the Women’s category and 3rd place in the men’s category at the student level. The women’s team was strengthened by Kadek Ayu Kurniartini, Ni Luh Juli Mita Wismayanti, Gusti Ayu Elsy Apriliya Dwi Yanti, Ni Luh Novita Sari, Maria Corazon Konjep Wombaki, Aiter Asmira Wandik, Audra Berok Yawan, I Gusti Ayu Intan Pratiwi, and Sang Ayu Putu Oktamayani.
The Men’s Team was strengthened by I Nyoman Dharma Yasa, Kadek Yudhi Journalist, Putu Devandra Radiastu Putra, Gede Andra Rizqy Wijaya, Made Deofan Gita Kresnandi, I Made Ardyka Putra, I Wayan Leon Surya Candra, Gede Fannel Bagusta, I Gusti Lanang Agung Pratama Wiguna.
This achievement was conveyed to the Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Undiksha Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, M.Kes, Thursday (31/8/2023). On this occasion, representatives of the Audra team Berok Yawan and Dharma Yasa said they were proud of their achievements. This was because his team was participating in this event for the first time and had to compete with teams from other universities who had experience in national and national competitions. “We from Undiksha took part for the first time, while several participants had many seniors who played, even internationally. But we are very proud to be able to represent Undiksha,” he said.
Meanwhile, UKM Cricket Supervisor, Prof. Dr. I Gusti Agung Lanang Parwata, M.Kes expressed his appreciation and was also proud of this achievement. “Because this is the first time participating in an event and winning immediately, it is very extraordinary for UKM Cricket in Undiksha,” he said. As a coach, he continues to strive to prepare the best athletes and continues to maximize coaching. “We hope Undiksha Cricket players can participate in national events, even join BKPON and some even pass PON,” he added.
Vice Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Sudiana also gave extraordinary appreciation to the Undiksha Cricket Team for making the university proud in the national event. This achievement is expected to be a motivation to take part in other competitions. “We as leaders appreciate and thank the coaches and students who have performed optimally at this event. We hope this can also motivate other students to take part in the competition,” he concluded. (hms)
