Singaraja- Another commendable achievement was made by one of the students in Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha). This time in the Mathematics Olympiad (KOMET XII) event held by Universitas Jambi. In the event held from 11 February to 13 February 2022, Undiksha, represented by I Kadek Narayana Aji Saka, won second place.
This Mathematics Education Study Programme student said the competition was attended by 154 participants from various universities in Indonesia. The tight competition already started from the preliminary round to the final round.
The preparation to participate in this event took approximately two weeks, including intensive guidance from a team of lecturers from the Department of Mathematics. “To prepare for this competition, it was about two weeks before the competition took place because I also happened to use the experience of previous competitions to prepare for this competition,” he explained on Tuesday (15/2/2022).
This student from Denpasar admitted that he was happy with this achievement because it could make his family and Undiksha proud at the national level. “I am very happy and grateful. I’m thankful to God, my family, lecturers, and friends who always support me endlessly that I got this far,” he said.
The headship of Undiksha gave their appreciation for this achievement. Vice-rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., hopes that there will be more and more outstanding students, both nationally and internationally. “This achievement is important for university rankings and to support student competitiveness,” he concluded.
