Singaraja– At the end of 2019, students of the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) have again succeeded in making achievements at the national level. This time was born from Dimas Fadhilah Aprilian Santosa. He won second place in an essay competition held by the HIMA Community Education Study Program, at Jakarta State University, on October 27, 2019. This achievement was presented to Undiksha’s Deputy Chancellor III, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd, Friday (27/12/2019).
Dimas Fadhilah said that the competition was attended by 19 participants. He raised the essay Application to Overcome the Extinction of Indonesian Regional Culture and Language. The idea arose after observing the phenomenon in the field of a decrease in youth’s sensitivity to cultural preservation. “That was the idea for this competition. Through the application, young people can learn local culture and languages,” he said.
Culture, according to the fifth-semester student of the Management Study Program at the Faculty of Economics, views culture as the identity of a nation. Therefore there is a need for conservation efforts at all levels of society. “Indonesian culture is not the same as other regions. So it must be maintained,” he said.
Regarding the competition, it was explained that the submission and evaluation of works took place online. “No more presentations. This competition is limited to providing ideas related to the development of education, “he added. Previously, he also won third place in the same competition at the national level.
This achievement was welcomed positively by Prof. Literature. It is hoped that it can be a motivation for other students to also excel. “Management students can get achievements in the essay field. We hope and encourage related study program students to do the same,” he said. This achievement is not only the pride of the university but also for the students concerned. (hms)
